As we are counting down the last hours of 2022, let’s overview December’s podcast series and guests. Throughout four weeks on-air we had label heads and friends on board showcasing their vision of music. Let’s go through what has happened, and if you missed it – you better tune in to catch up!

Sander Jammes

Sander Jammes, who we had on podcast series the first week of December, is a DJ and music producer from Puebla, Mexico. He carries a musical style that is centred on dark rhythms, deep atmosphere, energetic bass lines, and psychedelic nuances that fluctuate between 125 and 127 BPMs.

The beats and rhythms that Sander Jammes creates behind the decks exude a vibe, so contagious you can’t help but move along!

In the second week of December, we had Hamandra with her fast-paced, hypnotic techno set. As you may know, Hamandra is a co-owner and a head of Design at Plazma Records and is in charge of a number of duties in the label.

She is a music producer and is mostly known for her “Ancient Astronauts”  EP, and remixes for Deuce Parks‘ “Degenerate Souls” and Adriana Ray‘s “Time Wave“, which were all released at Plazma Records. Her most recent addition to her discography is a remix of Mogo‘s “Osmosis Inversa” track.

Hamandra made her DJ debut at the Plazma Showcase in Zermatt, Switzerland, in 2020, despite the fact that she has been mixing music quietly in a small studio since 2016. She typically alternates between experimental sounds and atmospheric, raw, minimalist, and hypnotic techno during her performances. Find out more about her in the interview she gave to us in 2021.

Robert Babicz

We were delighted to welcome Robert Babicz as our guest on the Plazmatic Sessions. Once again, we are honoured to receive and present to you a music mix from such a legendary, aspirational, and singular live performer, music producer, and sound engineer who, since the early 1990s, has been expanding the parameters of electronic music.

Robert Babicz is Polish-born and now resides in Malta. His distinctive artistic expression encompasses sound, vision, emotion, and spirituality.

Rob Acid, Acid Warrior, Department of Dance, and Sontec are just a few of the aliases he has used throughout his nearly three-decade career, which has spanned the genres of techno, acid house, and minimal. He has put out several well-regarded records on labels like Kompakt, Systematic Recordings, Treibstoff, and Bedrock, as well as his labels, JunkfoodBabiczstyle, and Dirtcut. He is well known as a live performer rather than a DJ, as he utilizes live equipment and synths and improvises in every set he plays.

And last but not least, our co-founder, co-owner, executive director and artist manager Ektoplazma finishes 2022 year off with a proper resident mix. Ektoplazma has already made a name for himself in the minimal music scene and never ceases to astound with his output. His most recent Back to Black EP, enriched with remixes by Mitod and Qugas, was a pinnacle of minimalism. He also made a remix for Deuce Park‘s track “Deep Damnation” not while ago, and participated in a recent release by Alex Tsak called “The Way“.

In this end-of-year mix, you will primarily hear tracks released by Plazma, some of which were produced by Ektoplazma himself. More fast-paced than usual, we promise, this set by Ektoplazma will get your legs moving!
