We’re amped to announce a new chapter for Plazma Records. Say hello to Plazma Music, our brand-new sub-label!
To kick things off, we’re dropping a new EP by our long-time collaborator, Planctophob. His release, “Teleplasm“, perfectly captures the spirit of Plazma Music, where creativity and innovation surpass the limits of genre.
About Plazma Music
Plazma Music emerges as a dynamic sub-label, serving as an experimental playground to diversify the sound of Plazma Records. While our parent label remains rooted in the Techno and Minimal genres, Plazma Music broadens the spectrum by introducing a wider range of electronic music styles. This new platform celebrates both rising stars and seasoned artists, merging diverse elements while maintaining the iconic Plazma sound and atmosphere.
Kicking off with “Teleplasm” EP
To launch Plazma Music, we tapped our long-time collaborator, Planctophob. His “Teleplasm” EP channels the minimalist sounds that ignited the Plazma movement over a decade ago. The name “Teleplasm” itself is a nod to our enduring partnership!
Featuring four original tracks, each tells a unique philosophical story through distinctive minimalist arrangements, melodic patterns, and overall sound design. The beauty of his creations lies in the spaces between moments, allowing listeners to fully appreciate each sound. Reflecting on the EP’s concept, Planctophob shares that “Teleplasm” has no hidden agendas or ulterior motives—it’s simply a pure moment in the eternal dance of creation.
About Planctophob
Planctophob, aka Nik Matern, is a staple in the minimal scene and a Plazma Records ally since 2014. He first appeared on our label with a remix for Mogo’s “Labyrinth of Drugs” EP and continued to impress minimal fanatics with his remix for Rausch&Metrik’s “Into Darkness” EP. His solo albums, “Existent Place” and now “Teleplasm“, highlight his distinctive minimalist ethos.
Known for his chaotic yet methodical production style, Planctophob often records random sounds using his phone’s voice recorder and various gear like the Korg Monologue, arranging them into cohesive and truly compelling tracks. His music, deeply rooted in Dark Minimal, reflects the environment around us and explores how we interact with it. As he eloquently put it in his latest interview with us, “Experiment is the only way to find something really new and interesting. This is why I’m here. I like it in any displays. Experiments with sounds, with colours, with my mind. Without any lanterns I’m going into the darkness. And I’ll never turn back.”
Without a doubt, Planctophob’s work reflects the spirit of experimentation and creativity through his choice of sounds and their manipulation. This is evident in his EP “Teleplasm”, which is not just a collection of tracks but a philosophical exploration of sound, blending scientific intrigue with artistic expression.
